Susan Childs has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of industries and roles in strategic HR business partnering and commercial sales within the Manufacturing, Banking, Business Consulting, Telecommunications and Media & Entertainment sectors. Her most rewarding industry experience is within the Healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotech areas where she has now been a part of for over 12 years with Takeda, Shire, Astra Zeneca and Medimmune. Currently, she has returned to HR business consulting as Principal Managing Partner for LCA Enterprises, LLC, her family practice focused on community development, professional leadership coaching, youth partnerships, inclusion thought and racial bias awareness and non-profit organization strategic workforce optimization. Susan is also an active member of the Healthcare Businesswoman’s Association and has most recently participated as a panelist for the 2017 International HBA conference session: Leading Strategy Design & Execution and currently, she serves on the Mid Atlantic Board of Directors as the program Director for the 2020 HBA Mid-Atlantic Region Mentorship Program. This appointment follows her leadership roles within the program as a Mentoring Connector and the Deputy Director. Susan is an industry recognized HR business partner senior lead, business turnaround champion, public speaker, project initiative leader and sales and marketing executive skilled in regional and global HR, sales, marketing and business transformation programs. In addition to leading complex sales negotiations and designing sales team salary incentive, effectiveness training and department startup programs, Susan has significant achievement in special HR business initiative project lead roles for transformational change readiness, business process outsourcing solutions and mergers, integration, divestiture & acquisition workforce strategy execution. Her professional aim is to provide senior leader advisement that motivates and optimizes talent using inclusive thought practices in order to place the right people in the right roles with their career aspirations in mind. She strives to help good companies become great—and great companies to be their best!
Susan has earned Bachelor of Business Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, an MBA from Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut and an Executive Management certification from the Harvard School of Business in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is licensed and certified in International Culture Understanding, Group Dynamics and Facilitations, Career Competency Design & Development and Employee Compliance & Investigations.
Susan is active outside of work by volunteering with her husband Oliver for their church and they have co-developed and delivered Church Administration leadership workshops, served as Executive Business Board members and co-facilitated 3-year strategic planning and revitalization sessions. Susan and Oliver reside in Wilmington, Delaware where they share their home with Susan’s mother. They have a blended family of three adult children and four (soon to be five) wonderful grandchildren.
