Omarina Cabrera is a senior at The George Washington University, originally from the Bronx, NY. She studies International Affairs with a Concentration in Latin American Hemispheric Studies and is pursuing a minor in Human Services and Social Justice. As someone who is passionate about education policy, she hopes to ensure equity in underrepresented school systems around the United States. Thus, she is really excited to be working with The Climb is Our Story this year as the team works towards this goal! Students may recognize her from a documentary done on her life entitledThe Education of Omarinareleased in 2016. Through her platform, she has spoken at The White House My Brothers Keeper Campaign and Bank of America Student Leaders Summit (2016 and 2019) among others, about the importance of investing in youth and parity when it comes to educational opportunities. In her spare time, you can catch her trying new restaurants around DC, watching The Office, or at the MSSC reception desk!
